New York Times announced today that the unemployment rate is 8.1 %

That doesn't include the people that have been unemployment long enough to run out of benefits, or the people who took part-time work while they continue to look for full-time work.  I have seen speculations that the actual unemployment  rate is between 9 and 10 %.

I can't even comprehend these numbers.  I just can't.
