Jim Butcher's Turn Coat
Apr. 20th, 2009 12:16 pmAcquired. The Bookstore has a 30% discount on New York Times Bestsellers.
Again, I apparently know before they do. I called down, explaining that I had not seen it on the BestSeller area, but that it was on the list - would it be discounted. They say yes.
I go down to purchase. It's not ringing up right. Cashier goes to confirm. She is told it is not on list. Higher up is walking buy, notices my consternation (and how I am not going to purchase at full price) - we exchange pleasantries as I used to work here, but now work offsite. We go back to consult list. It is in list. I get it for discount (and new list is printed and problem is being fixed overall, not just for me.)
I am way to eager for the books that I do buy in Hardcover. I normally have to go back to the office desk to confirm that they are indeed on the list - I know before the general books staff knows. Which, is very silly.
Anyway, I have Turn Coat By Jim Butcher. If any of ya'll that know me what to get in line to borrow it, let me know. First dibs goes to my coworker, who supplied me with the initial hit, but can't afford them in hardcover. But I am a sharing monkey when it comes to book crack.
<hugs the world>
I haz book.
