Here's a start

I don't really know why I signed up for this journal. I guess it had to do with getting the USC job. *finally*.

This weekend was rather relaxing. I always remember the ones that don't involved any gaming. Most weekends I have at least one larp or table-top game- and the time always seems to fly more on these week-ends.

I finished the Babylon 5 season two disk set, it should be on it's way back to netflix, and I already am fiending for the next set. They aren't out until August. Why do the DVD makers make us wait? What purpose does it serve?

We are going to be starting th SG-1 series next-- I love that netflix has television series season disks. There is something to be said about being sit down and see multiple episodes in chronological order. I can remember watching a bit of Babylon 5, but it seemed a lot better this time around- probably just because I actually understand the back-plot this time. The plot and characters are amazing-- on par with the best of the movies I have seen. I am trying really hard to not read ahead- having found a website with episode synopsis, background info, and comments by jms. I kicked the spoiler habit for the end of BtVS (pretty much at the point when it was announced that it was the last season of BtVS) and realized that I enjoyed episodes better WITHOUT spoilers.

I realized on Saturday that I no longer need cable. With the ability to get the season disks, and the fact that with Buffy gone the basic channels are a veritable desert of interesting programming, I don't have any use for it. Channel surfing, I guess, when I have nothing better to do or am too tired to watch anything that I need to pay attention to.

Well, if ya ever wanna check out wrestling, RAW is on TNN Mondays and Smackdown's on UPN Thursdays.

Or, you could just continue the sanity and read books. :)

With the 2+ hour commute home very night, I do enough reading. I can sleep in the mornings, but if I try that in the evenings, there is a chance of missing my stop.
