Jonathan Coulton Concert
May. 18th, 2009 02:42 pmThe boy wanted to go for his birthday. I wasn't as looking forward to it as I could be - I find Coulton to be hit or miss, and I had never heard of Paul and Storm (the opening act).
Despite one heck of a headache, I had a blast.
Paul and Storm were hilarious. They're sense of comedic timing is perfect, the songs were well written and funny. I think I am going to have to add their album to the list of things waiting for their space in my media budget.
And Coulton was fabulous. Even the songs that I didn't normally like, I did when he did them live. I suspect some of them are meant to be done live and that's why I don't like them as much.
I am very glad we went, the boy had a blast, and all was right with the world (except the headache I got from being far too close to the speaker (price of being close to the stage) and the light reflecting off the guitars.).
