I loved the cartoon for Avatar: the last Airbender. If you can get through the first season, where is clearly aimed at preteens and preteens only (it was good still), it's an excellent anime/cartoon.
There are four main characters - and two of them look asian, and two of them look Inuit. In fact, the world has distinct lack of caucasians.
The actors for the new movie? All white except for one Indian actor. Which means they look nothing like the characters. Seriously, the girl playing the female lead looks like a young Dawn from Buffy - and the that's not anything like the real character.

The very worst thing for me, is that there is secondary female character being played by an actress that does look amazingly like the main female character from the anime.
I am not going to be seeing this film. Not even in free form.
