I am not going to be low hanging fruit*.  I will not be voting for Obama come November.   I am not going to vote the lesser of two evils, and I am not going to vote for Obama because I have less of a chance of losing Roe if he wins.

To be frank, I don't trust him.  I don't trust him to not allow my rights to continue to be widdled away.  I don't trust to him to keep my interests in mind.

CA isn't a state that will feel the loss of my vote, but I don't know that that would matter to me at this point.  I am getting rather sick of voting for people that I can't respect.

So those of you who know something about the independents, where should my vote go?

From a recent transcript - from Media Matters for America -
"CHUCK TODD: ... So, I think when you look at this, and our experts, our pollsters said, boy they would worry about the suburban women thing. If they were Obama they'd worry about the suburban women thing first, before the men. They say, you know what? Hey, Bush won men by this much; you can still win it by losing men by that much. I'd argue and say if he slices men from 20 to 15, and you assume those women come home, then that's how he wins a big win. And he forces McCain to play defense.

CHRIS MATTHEWS: But in a political [unintelligible], women are low-hanging fruit, though, in the terms of politics.

TODD: Correct.

MATTHEWS: You can reach up and say, "I'm pro-choice, he's not.""

Well, neither the Peace and Freedom nor the Green parties have chosen their presidential candidates yet, but they'll have 'em by August, I believe. They're your most likely interests in November, especially since depending on which level one is voting at, they apparently are the same party with some of the same candidates.

The <http://www.lp.org/>Libertarian Party has chosen their candidate, but he isn't even worth mentioning. Looks like they've sold out to get a recognizable name this time. *grumble*

The American Independent Party is anti-choice.

Not even close to libertarian. I like taxes. Taxes pay for police and schools and fireman and so forth.

There's a few responses I could make here, but none of them are useful right now.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the PFP and GP.

Rumors are flying wild about McCain's first choice of running mate (Lieberman) being a Social Liberal, which I personally love, but Republicans are pissed about cause it may cost them the Right Wing Christian vote. I like that he's a social reformist who is Pro-Choice, has a decent track record as a former Democractic Senator, and had the balls to buck the system and dare his party to kick him out and then run for Senator again as an independent. Of course, this may all be moot if McCain decides to cave in to GOP pressure and not select Leiberman. But hey! If he picks him, I am pretty sure he'll have my vote.

I love too the juxtaposition of "pro-choice" and "low-hanging fruit" (read: easy). Those tramps will just vote for any old party! STFU, Matthews.
