WW and why I won't be playing in the new chronicle.

I have seen the advertising on the WW page about their new card game - Pimp.

I won't be renewing my Camarilla membership. I am going to express my displeasure they only way that really matters -with my pocket book.

This is not a matter that is something I want to debate with anyone. There is nothing that anyone can say that will convince me that the game isn't highly offensive, and trying to will only lessen the esteem I have for the person trying to persuade me.

I believe my membership is up in Feb. I will miss the end of the current chronicle, and will not be playing in the new one.

I have already contacted White Wolf, and received a form letter that pretty much told me that they believe I will continue to buy their products.

If I had any potential to waver, their letter killed it.

Apparently you are not the only person complaining about this game. However you are the first I have known to have contacted WW and gotten a response.

I'm curious to see their form letter response, and wonder why they didn't predict this kind of outcry when they thought of this. Would you be willing to post the letter or send it to me so I can read the legalese and line-talk they put in to cover their asses?

I expect they predicted it, they were just willing to roll the dice. After all, if I were running WW, I wouldn't expect anyone capable of ignoring the Black Dog books to give a damn about silly card game called Pimp: The Backhanding.

Personally, I've done far worse things in the Werewolf game. *shrug*

Still, to each their own. There are plenty of games out there for everyone's taste.

well, it's one to write about gory monsters and rapists that are EVIL. I suppose it's snother thing to tred into the realm of stereotypes, misogyny, and expploitation in the name of casual fun. Don't get me wrong, I have seen far worse, but still... considering that female gamers were where WW got their biggest demographic from in the beginning, it does seem a bit short-sighted.

I think WW expects their consumers to be mature people who understand that if they don't like something, they don't have to buy it. That seems like a perfectly reasonable position to take when talking about most gamers, female or male.

I know it's a form letter 'cause it was posted on one of the blogs I read. I am wary of posting it here, I believe that would violate copyright law.
